Roomy Shroff was an electronic and mechanical buff since
childhood, pursuing his hobby with a passion. Totally self-taught and self-motivated,
by the time he reached his teens he thoroughly understood electric, electronic and mechanical
principles. After doing his B.Sc. he joined an electronics firm to head their audio and
electronic department. A few years later he joined the R&D team of the Tata Electric
Companies. Soon he started his own audio repair shop, and rapidly had a wide base of quality
conscious clients, who appreciated his dedication to detail. When the first personal home
computer hit the market, Roomy got involved in a big way with computers. He and his friend
Jehangir Gazdar both got involved not only in the electronics aspect, but also in programming.
Today, Roomy is an expert in all aspects of computers hardware as well as programming
in various languages. He turned his hobby into a business - and that is the reason for his
success. He enjoys what he is doing and gives it his all.
Jehangir Gazdar was a well-known photographer and visualizer for Time-Life magazines. Like
his partner Roomy, he too believed in making his passion earn money for him! At any world
event, the energetic Jehangir would be there! When the first PC computer hit the market,
Jehangir, always the one to investigate the latest technology, bought one, and was promptly
hooked. The same passion that went into photography went into computers. Totally involved in
the computer world, it was natural for him to join hands with his friend Roomy to start up
MicroPix in the year 1990. Besides his knowledge of computers, his artistic background was
useful for both the textile and web page designing. Nothing escaped Jehangirs keen
artistic eye.
MicroPix started with a strong committed team of people and soon developed into a company
with a strong market position in its various divisions. MicroPix started as a small company
but now is a registered company doing business with customers all over the world.
